Room Sealed Flue Kit

Designed in Australia, Pivot’s Insulated Room Sealed Flue Kit is the latest innovation in wood flue technology. Based on designs used throughout Europe and Canada, this twist lock flue is perfect for any new home wishing to have a wood heater. Sealed to the room, this flue keeps 8% more heat inside your home than traditional air-cooled flue kits, which keeps you warmer and saves you money on wood.

How It Works

The Insulated Room Sealed Flue boasts a simple yet effective design. The interior active flue is made from stainless steel, with 50mm of ceramic insulation wrapped around it. The insulation is the covered by the outer casing, forming a stainless steel pipe. This stainless steel construction ensures the flue will not rust, perfect for seaside homes with salty sea air.

Both ends of the flue pipe are sealed, with a male and female twist on either end, creating a twist lock join. With the flue pipe fully sealed, there are no loose pieces of ceramic insulation, meaning it is completely safe to handle, unlike insulated flue from the old days.

Twist Lock Connection

The unique twist lock connection truly separates this flue kit from all others on the Australian market. This extremely simple connection allows the flue lengths to click together without hassle, far easier than screwing lengths together, as with other flues. This makes installation easier, and ensures the flue is straight all the way up your install. By attaching the included locking band over the join, you ensure a secure connection between two pieces of flue.

Ceiling Ring

The ceiling ring is what makes the Room Sealed Flue Kit airtight. A donut of insulation around the ceiling ring, pushes up hard against the ceiling, making the room completely airtight. This allows you to keep all your heat in the room and not lose 8% up your flue, which you do with a traditional air-cooled flue kit.

Diameter

Another huge advantage the Room Sealed Flue Kit has over other flue is its diameter. Traditional six inch flue kits are 250mm wide, while the Room Sealed Flue Kit is only 200mm wide. That 50mm difference might not seem like much, but when the clearances for both flues are 25mm on either side, it can often mean the difference between being clear of timber beams or having to find another solution.

Size Options

Pivot’s Room Sealed Flue Kit comes in three sizes: RSF6 (6 inch / 200mm outer casing), RSF8 (8 inch / 250mm outer casing), and RSF10 (10 inch / 300mm outer casing). With adaptors to suit all size spigots, from 5 inches all the way to 10 inches, the Room Sealed Flue Kit can fit on any size wood heater. See our handy guide below to see which Room Sealed Flue Kit (and adaptor) is right for your wood heater.

Quieter

Pivot’s Insulated Room Sealed Flue Kit is 90% quieter than traditional flue kits. Instead of separate pieces of flue riveted together, which can rattle around and bring noise in through the gaps between lengths, the Room Sealed Flue lengths twist lock together tightly, and the insulation dampens the noise. This drastically reduces wind noise and cuts down on traffic and city noise in the suburbs.

Paint

Inside your room, the Room Sealed Flue Kit is painted with Stove Bright paint, the same paint as your wood heater. This means your flue will match your heater perfectly and allows you to touch up the flue in the event of any scratches or marks, keeping it looking pristine for many years to come.

Additional Components

In addition to standard lengths, there are a variety of different pieces available for the Room Sealed Flue Kit which allow you to customize the flue to suit your home and needs. With bends available to get around roof hips and beams, adjustable lengths to give you a bit more reach, and T-pieces to flue directly out the back wall, the Room Sealed Flue Kit has a solution for every home.

Bracing

An important part of a good flue kit is keeping it secure. There are four bracing options available for the Room Sealed Flue Kit to ensure it stays secure in your home for years to come.

Ceiling Support Brace

Designed to sit in the ceiling cavity, this brace keeps your flue secure in the roof cavity. Adjustable wings allow you to position it against the timbers in your roof cavity.

Roof Bracing Kit with arms

When your flue terminates high above your roof, this brace is designed to secure the flue. The brace wraps around the flue, then adjustable arms extend from the brace and are screwed to the roof.

Adjustable Wall Brace

For flue running up the outside of the home, the wall brace bolts the flue directly to the outer wall. The bracket is adjustable, giving you plenty of reach between the flue and the wall.

Tee Wall Bracket

When installing a rear flue kit, the Tee Wall Bracket installs over the RSF Tee Piece, securing the Tee Piece to the outer wall, giving your flue a strong base to run up your wall.

Flashings

The Room Sealed Flue Kit has flashing options available for metal, tile, and canvas roofs.

Metal Roofs

Standard flashings for metal roofs are tested to Bal 12.5. For those in a BAL 29 area, however, we do supply BAL 29 flashings. These flashings are perfect to keep your home fire safe, and are available for all pitch roofs, from 0° to 45°.

Tile Roofs

Aqua-lead flashings for tile roofs are coated in EPDM rubber, meaning they are approved for homes with tank water.

Canvas Roofs

For Yurts, Kingdomes, pavilions, and everything in between, our canvas flashings allow you to safely place a flued wood fire into your canvas build.

Pellet Fires

Room Sealed Flue Kits are also available for Pellet Fires. Substantially smaller than even 6 inch flue kits, these flue kits contain all the benefits of the main Room Sealed Flue Kit line, but shrunk down for a pellet fire. All the lengths and fittings are available for the Pellet Fire Room Sealed Flue Kits, as well as unique 30° bends, 90° bends, and cowls for both horizontal and vertical fluing.

Pivot’s Insulted Room Sealed Flue Kit is available for all freestanding wood heaters. This gives you incredible flexibility to choose the wood heater you want, without compromising on the flue kit. It’s twist lock design, incredible insulation, heating benefits, and unlimited customisation make this the premiere flue kit on the market today.
